Introduction

Closing ritual
Things to look for in participants:
- laughter; expressing their ideas, opinions, desires etc.
- volunteering to participate; feeling comfortable with workshop
facilitation; asking questions, socializing, etc.
Notes for Facilitators:
- Collectively establish workshop ground rules with the group and define safe zone.
- Guide the exercises, but prepare for creative implementation. In theatre creativity comes out in a form of as energy.
- Cultivate a non-judgmental environment - where participants feel comfortable expressing themselves and playing.
- Seniors usually have rich life experiences and have played many different roles in life,
have many memories and are more likely to be more connected with their deep emotions.
- Encourage participants to express their ideas, and offer positive reinforcement when
someone does, such as, "thank-you for sharing your idea" or "That's interesting. Thanks for sharing", etc.
- Before the end of the workshop/session take participants through the content of the next session
so they know what to expect and can come prepared.
- Remind participants of the "ground rules" and safe zone definition determined by the group.
- Stress the importance of a closing ceremony/ritual. Express it not only with words but also with ACTION!
