The HATS project main activities are
The development and delivery of the Action Theatre Training. HATS has been
offering training and support seniors' groups of diverse backgrounds, so that
they can explore this powerful tool and adapt it to their own realities.
The development and publication of a training manual. This manual
is intended for community workers, group leaders, animators, individuals
interested in seniors theatre or in the use of theatre as a community
development and education tool.
The creation of a website. This website contains an interactive
Action Theatre Forum and the online and downloadable versions of the
manual as well as its Portuguese and Vietnamese versions.
The dissemination of information through the Action Theatre
sessions, workshops and presentations. These sessions are aimed
at raising awareness about various issues affecting older adults and
the community in general, encouraging people to engage in dialogue
and in civic action, and increasing the access to appropriate health care.
