This group exercise was interesting, educational and meaningful it made us think.

This play shows the world that Elder abuse is wrong.

This tool is very important because is gives a chance to everyone, people anywhere in the world can give their opinions about Elder abuse.

We think this can make people think and analyze their situations.

Hello there,

I want to thank the people who came to last Friday's HATS Web Session at Bang the Drum, here at St. Christopher House. It was great!

Thanks to the Interactive Demo players for making this experience so informative and educational - and fun too of course!

I don't speak Vietnamese but as a Joker, I'm the mediator between the reality of this Forum and the world - and one reality is that not all of us speak the same language... but we all need to be able to understand each other to communicate... so I thought that maybe we would like to know how the message above translates into English.

Message posted by the "Vietnamese senior group" (above):

Chuong trinh nay rat la bo ich cho cao nien[nhat la cong dong Viet Nam]

Translates:
"This program is very helpful to the seniors, especially the Vietnamese Community"

Thanks!
and enjoy the forum and stay tuned for the new Play coming up in December.

... the Joker can't read Vietnamese... but she has the desire to understand what the participants say... so the Joker asked a Vietnamese speaking colleague (Tuyet) to translate the sentence. And Now the Joker is sharing the learning with you :)

It is important to be able to understand each other. The language does not matter, as there are ways that you can learn to understand each other one of these ways is through the Hats Program.
Please keep up the great job you are doing.

Thank you Gordon!

We have also received your request for information from the Get Involved section.

Let us know what you think about the online manual.

HATS players will be performing "A senior nightmare" tomorrow at the Elder Abuse Conference here in Toronto.

This situation is all too real and too close to my heart, which saddens me, as well as the suffering.
It is comforting to know that the good fight has weathered the storm, though there is still much work to be done. There are still grandmas out there who need to be friended by these programs who are cut off from and are unable to access this caring community.

esta situação é real para muitas mulheres, independentemente da sua cultura e educação. Abuso e opressão manifesta-se em muitas formas e feitios...
