Theatre Games
Objective: to get participants to warm up
Activity: Generally we begin with theatre games in the form of warm ups and exercises designed to challenge
participants to listen to what they are hearing, to feel what they are touching, and to see what they are looking at.
A. Warm-ups get the players loosened up, feel safe about taking risks, develop trust and get the players in synch.
B. Exercises focus on particular aspects of creative expression and self-discovery and allow for players to
focus on the skills of environment, characters, listening, story telling, corporal expression.
Quote from Boal: Players "must always work their bodies to get to know them better and to make them more expressive."
